About Me

A native Texan who grew up playing the piano, singing, acting, and dancing, I followed my love of music and performance to Boston University. There, I earned a Bachelor of Music degree, magna cum laude. Upon graduation, I was accepted into the prestigious Boston University Opera Institute for post-grad work, earning a Certificate in Performance. Further studies included the Accademia Verdiana in Italy with renowned tenor Carlo Bergonzi, and summers at Tanglewood Music Festival, Israel Vocal Arts Institute, and the University of Pennsylvania Language Immersion Institute.

Along with my private studio of 25 years, I have also taught at the Dwight-Englewood School, the Thurnauer School of Music at the JCC on the Palisades, the Papermill Playhouse, and the Diller-Quaile School of Music, among others. My students have appeared in Broadway, TV, regional theaters, and school/college concerts and productions.

One of the biggest strengths I bring to my students is my experience as a performer. My career has taken me around the United States, singing with companies such as Opera San Antonio, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Sarasota Opera, Opera Theatre of St Louis, and the San Antonio Symphony. It was a dream come true to sing at the Metropolitan Opera as a National Finalist in the prestigious Met Opera Auditions.

Since the birth of my son, I have pursued performing opportunities closer to home, including appearing in leading roles with the Players Guild of Leonia, and serving as the music director in various productions there. I am the Founding Director of Merry Minstrels, a caroling and entertainment group.

My passion for health and wellness led me to studies in integrative nutrition with Columbia Teachers College. I am a Certified Health Counselor by the AADP. Building on my love of working with children, I have a Certificate from Sunbridge College in Waldorf Early Childhood Education.
